My name is Marcela, I´m from Chili but I live in spain. My
experience as Diana´s student is really good; she´s a great teacher
because she breaks down for you every single step and make you do
the effort to do it in the correct way, and she doesn´t give up
until you do it, and for me that´s great because she makes you
progress a lot, but is not only in the tecqnicke, is also in the
feeling and in the expression of what belly dancing really means: to
conect with your feminity and then share the happiness of your
discovering. |

She teaches techniques very particulary and explain how we make
the movements and where it comes from. I've learned from her classes
that the right techniques made a interesting choreography and using
spaces was very important to make a nice show dance. And also she
always tells us to follow the music lines (song or words) not only
the music and melody. So in her choreography there is always a drama
and a story. When I improvise, I try to chose the instrument to
follow while listning the music. Because I've learned that it's not
necessary to follow the melody all the time, maybe following a drum
or a violin makes better sometimes. |

We have been studying with Diana for several seasons and have
found her instruction to be substantial and very intrumental to our
work. Since Diana has resided in Egypt for many years, performed
with a live orquestra and intigrated herself completely into the
Egyptian society, and due to her extensive studies of psychology,
she is the perfect bridge between western dancers and the oriental
culture.
We love the way she hears the arabic melodies, her wide
vocabulary of steps and her wonderful musical phrasing. We honestly
recommend to any one who is serious about learnig oriental dance,
beginner or professional, to study with her.
She has
choreographed for us in several occasions and we have incorporated
these dance into Oriental Fantasy beautifully and successfully.
